San Luis Obispo Creek runs the length of this valley and out to the beach, and the sycamore, willow and cottonwood along it are what fill the gutters of everything within reach. Those trees hold their leaves far longer than the oaks that set the schedule inland. A seafront place with nothing overhanging the roof often holds at one a year. If you are on the creek and only want one visit, take the later date and accept a wet first storm.
