Coastal glass and inland glass fail in completely different ways

Which one you have decides how often you need us and what we bring.

Within a few miles of the water in Cambria, Cayucos, Morro Bay, Los Osos, Avila, Shell Beach, Pismo and Grover Beach, the marine layer rolls in overnight and burns off by mid morning. What it leaves behind is not dust, it is a fine salt film that bonds to the glass. Rinse it with a hose and you spread it. Wipe it dry with a cloth and you polish it into a haze. It comes back faster than inland grime, which is why coastal properties usually want three or four visits a year rather than two.

Head inland toward Paso Robles, Atascadero, Templeton, Creston and Santa Maria and the problem inverts. The air is dry, so the enemy is water: sprinkler overspray and hard well water hitting the lower panes and evaporating. That leaves calcium and magnesium behind. Left long enough it stops being a deposit and starts being etching, which is permanent, and at that point no amount of cleaning brings the glass back. Catching it early is the difference between a wash and a restoration.

Then there is everything specific to a property: Highway 101 road film on anything fronting the corridor, harvest dust across the Paso and Edna Valley vineyards every autumn, and construction dust that behaves nothing like ordinary dirt because it is alkaline and will scratch if anybody drags it across the pane.

How the job actually runs

Same crew, same owner, every time. Nothing is handed to a subcontractor at any point, so the person who quoted the job is the person doing it.

  1. We look at the glass before we touch it

Hard water staining, scratched panes, failed seals and cracked glass all get pointed out to you before we start rather than discovered afterwards. If a pane is already damaged, you hear it from us first.

  2. Pole, ladder or lift, whichever the building needs

Water fed poles for upper stories, so nothing leans against your siding or your gutters. Ladders where a pole cannot reach the angle. A lift for the commercial buildings and hotels that need one. No job is too big or too small, and none of it is subbed out.

  3. Screens, tracks and sills, not just the glass

Screens come out and get washed. Tracks and sills get cleared. Skip that and the first rain drags grit straight back down a clean pane, which is why a cheap clean never lasts. We do not repair or rescreen damaged screens, but we will tell you which ones need it.

  4. Detailed by hand where it counts

Edges and corners get finished by hand. A pole is the right tool for reach and for rinsing, not for the last ten percent of a ground floor window somebody is going to stand next to.

  5. We walk it with you

Every job ends with a walk around before we pack up. Anything you are not happy with gets put right there and then. That is the whole satisfaction guarantee, and it is why Corey answers the phone the following year.

What is included

  • Exterior glass, and interior glass when you want it
  • Screens removed, washed and refitted
  • Window tracks cleared out
  • Sills and frames wiped down
  • Water fed pole work for upper stories with no ladder marks on your siding
  • Hard water spot assessment, with a straight answer on whether it will come off
  • A walk around with you before we leave

What we do not do

Worth saying plainly, so nobody is waiting on something we were never going to do.

  • Screen repair or rescreening. We will tell you which screens need it, but somebody else does that work.
  • Glass replacement or failed seal repair. We flag it, a glazier fixes it.

The light literally shines brighter

Every word below is lifted straight from Corey's Google profile. Nothing written by us, nothing tidied up.

Crystal Clean was at our house this morning to clean all the windows on the first and second story and did a wonderful job. Corey is a perfectionist and is very detail oriented. He cleaned the windows inside and out, cleaned the screens, cleaned the tracks, and even all the window sills.

The best!!! On time, very confident and considerate inside our home as well as outside. Corey and his son are very professional at what they do. 2 objectives we needed done. 1 very hard to reach interior skylight and our solar panels needed cleaning. We will definitely have them back on a yearly maintenance plan for sure.

Communication was top shelf. Timely, arrival and departure. Fairly priced to local competition. Professional, beginning to end. Ran a clean operation, wore booties over shoes inside without asking, never noticed they were here after they left due to picking up after themselves. Our 3 story home was no easy task but they managed to clean all of our 27 windows just fine.

If I could give Crystal Clean 10 stars, I would! My pergola was extremely dirty and moldy as my home power washing attempts could never get it clean. I was considering taking it down it was such an eyesore. It now looks brand new without a trace of mold to be found!

Cory was responsive from our very first contact, always following up and showing up. And our windows are literally sparkling, which I thought was just a phrase. The company uses soft water which reduces water stains.

Crystal Clean A1 has cleaned the solar panels on our house and HOA pool house twice now. Both times they were easy to communicate with, arrived as scheduled, and did a thorough job for a reasonable price. They're an easy company to recommend.

Corey has cleaned probably close to 20 houses of windows and solar panels and a driveway or two. I have always been more than satisfied with the work and he always goes above and beyond for a fair price.

Double glaze window cleaning perfection. At last a window cleaning company that really provides service. Timely and professional. Most window companies fall apart after first visit. For now 10 out of 10. Look no further, you found it.

What window cleaning costs around here

Typical Central Coast market rates for a residential exterior clean run roughly $8 to $15 per pane, with most single story homes landing somewhere between $150 and $350 and two story properties higher. Those are regional ranges to set expectations, not our quote. Send an address and you get a real number instead of a guess.

  • Pane count, not house size

A compact home with a wall of glass costs more than a big house with ordinary windows. Count panes, not square feet.

  • How many stories

Second and third story work needs pole or ladder time, and occasionally a lift. That is the single biggest swing on most quotes.

  • Inside as well as out

Interior work roughly doubles the pane count and adds time for moving furniture and covering floors.

  • Hard water severity

Light spotting comes off in the normal clean. Years of sprinkler calcium is a restoration job priced separately, and sometimes the honest answer is that the glass is etched and will not fully recover.

  • Access

Steep hillside lots around San Luis Obispo, tight side yards, balconies and anything needing a lift all add time.

  • One off or on a schedule

Recurring visits cost less per visit, partly because the glass never gets bad enough to need the slow work.

Window Cleaning questions we get asked

How often should I have my windows cleaned on the Central Coast?
Twice a year suits most inland homes around Paso Robles, Atascadero and Santa Maria. Within a few miles of the water in Cambria, Cayucos, Morro Bay, Los Osos, Avila, Shell Beach, Pismo and Grover Beach, three or four times a year is more realistic, because the marine layer lays down a salt film overnight that builds far faster than ordinary dust. If you can see haze on a clear day, you are already overdue.
Do you clean the screens and tracks or only the glass?
Crystal Clean A1 Window Services cleans screens, tracks and sills as part of a standard window cleaning, not as an extra. Cleaning the glass and leaving a track full of grit is how you get dirty water running back down a clean pane the first time it rains. We do not repair or rescreen torn screens, though we will tell you which ones need it.
Can you reach second and third story windows?
Yes. Water fed poles handle most upper story work across San Luis Obispo County without anything leaning on your siding or gutters, ladders cover the angles a pole cannot, and we bring a lift for commercial buildings and hotels that need one. One review on our Google profile is a three story home with 27 windows.
Will you get hard water stains off my windows?
Often, but not always, and Crystal Clean A1 gives you a straight answer before we start. Recent sprinkler spotting usually comes off in the normal clean. Deposits that have sat for years can be removed with a restoration process priced separately. Once the mineral has actually etched into the glass surface it is permanent, and anybody promising otherwise is selling you something. We would rather tell you that up front than take your money and disappoint you.
Do you do commercial window cleaning as well as homes?
Both, and commercial is a real part of the business. Central Coast storefronts, offices, medical and office parks, restaurants and hotels, including recurring route work where we come back on a set schedule. Corey handles commercial quotes directly and the same rule applies: our crew, our equipment, nothing subcontracted.
Do I need to be home?
Not for exterior work, as long as we can reach the glass and any gates are unlocked. Interior work obviously needs someone there. Either way the job ends with a walk around, so if you are out we will arrange a time to go over it with you.
