Terms of Service
What you get, what we will not do, and what happens if something is not right.
Last updated July 28, 2026
This page describes how the site actually works today. It is written in plain English rather than copied from a template, and it should still be reviewed by the business owner before launch.
Who you are dealing with
Crystal Clean A1 Window Cleaning Services Inc., trading as Crystal Clean A1 Window Services, of 265 Foothill Blvd, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405. California Business License #17881. Owner Corey Byler.
Insured to $1,000,000 in liability. The certificate is available on request before any job, residential or commercial, and we would rather you asked.
Quotes
A quote given from an address or a description is our best assessment from the information provided. If the property turns out to be materially different from what was described, for example many more panes, an access problem nobody mentioned, or damage that was already there, we will tell you before starting and agree what happens next rather than adding it to the invoice afterwards.
Published figures anywhere on this website are researched regional market ranges for the Central Coast, clearly labeled as such. They are not a quote and they are not our prices. Only a figure given to you directly for your property is a quote.
The satisfaction guarantee
Every job finishes with a walk around with you before we pack up. Anything you are not happy with gets put right there and then, at no extra cost. That is the guarantee in full and there is no small print under it.
If you are not present at the end of the job, tell us and we will arrange a time to go over it with you.
What we will not do
We will decline work where the method being asked for would damage the property. The clearest example is pressure washing a roof, which strips granules from composition shingle, can crack tile, and voids most manufacturer warranties. We will not do it whoever asks and whatever is offered.
We also do not provide these services at all, and will point you elsewhere: window screen repair or rescreening, gutter guard or leaf guard installation, holiday or Christmas light installation, dryer vent cleaning, vacation rental turnover cleaning, glass replacement and failed seal repair.
Existing damage
Before starting, we point out what we can see: scratched or already etched glass, cracked panes, failed seals, torn screens, loose or damaged tile, rotten wood, failing paint. Telling you first is the point, so nothing gets blamed on the clean afterwards.
Where a surface is already compromised, we will say what we think will happen and let you decide before we touch it.
Access, scheduling and weather
We need to be able to reach the work. That usually means unlocked gates, pets secured and vehicles moved off a driveway being cleaned. If we cannot get to it on the day, we will reschedule rather than do half a job.
Work is weather dependent. Cleaning glass in heavy rain or high wind produces a result nobody is happy with, so we move it. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Payment
Payment is due on completion unless something else has been agreed in writing beforehand. Commercial and recurring route work is arranged separately.
Cancelling or rescheduling
Cancel or move a booking whenever you need to. A phone call the day before is plenty and there is no cancellation fee.
If we arrive at a booked time and cannot start because the gate is locked, a dog is loose in the work area or the driveway is still full of cars, we will call you and try to make it work. If it cannot be made to work that day we will rebook it, and repeatedly losing a booked slot that way is the one situation where we may ask for something toward the trip.
If we cancel on you, which usually means weather, there is no charge for anything and you go to the front of the queue for the next dry day.
If something gets damaged
Tell us straight away, ideally before we leave. Corey Byler is on the job himself, so there is nobody to escalate it to and no claims department to get past.
We carry $1,000,000 in liability insurance and the certificate is available on request. If we broke it, it gets put right, and that is what the insurance is for.
What we cannot take responsibility for is a failure that was already coming: a seal that had already gone, glass that was already etched or scratched, brittle old trim, or a screen whose frame had already perished. Those are the things pointed out to you before the work starts, which is the whole reason they get pointed out.
Photographs of your property
Before and after photographs get taken on most jobs and some are published on this website. They are framed on the surface being cleaned, never captioned with an address, and never used in a way that identifies whose property it is.
Say the word and no photographs get taken at yours. Anything already published comes down on request without needing a reason. The privacy page says the same thing in more detail.
The limits of all this
Cleaning is cleaning. It removes what is on a surface, and it cannot undo damage that is already in one. Etched glass, spalled concrete, a stain that has gone through into the material, oxidised paint: those come back better and not new, and where that is the likely outcome you will be told before the work rather than after it.
Where something does go wrong and it is our fault, what we owe is putting it right or refunding what you paid for that work, and our liability is limited to that. Nothing here takes away rights you have under California law.
If we disagree
Call first. Almost everything gets sorted out in one phone call with the person who did the work, which is one of the few genuine advantages of hiring an owner operator over a franchise.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, and anything that cannot be resolved directly belongs in the courts of San Luis Obispo County.
This website
The content here is provided in good faith and is intended to be genuinely useful, including to people who never hire us. Cleaning advice on this site is general guidance, not a guarantee of a result on your specific surface, and doing exterior work at height carries real risk. If you are not confident, get somebody who is.
